SELF-GUIDED PRACTICE
How to practice
- Choose a simple, stable object at eye level, such as a candle, stone, mark on the wall, or plant.
- Sit upright at a comfortable distance so the eyes do not strain.
- Rest the gaze on the object with natural blinking and a relaxed forehead, jaw, and neck.
- Notice color, outline, light, shadow, and texture without analyzing the object.
- When attention drifts, return to seeing the object rather than tightening the eyes.
- If the eyes water, ache, or the head feels tense, blink more, soften the gaze, or pause.
- Keep the session short at first, especially if you are sensitive to visual focus.
- Finish by closing or lowering the eyes briefly and feeling the after-effect in the body.
Stay comfortable. You can stop at any time or return to your natural breath.
