SELF-GUIDED PRACTICE
How to practice
- Sit on a cushion, bench, or chair with the spine upright, stable, and not rigid.
- Let the head balance over the spine, chin slightly tucked, shoulders relaxed, and hands resting steadily.
- Keep the eyes open or half-open with a soft downward gaze, unless your tradition or body needs otherwise.
- Let breathing move naturally through the nose or mouth without controlling it.
- Remain physically still enough to notice the urge to adjust, comment, chase thoughts, or resist discomfort.
- Allow thoughts, sensations, and sounds to pass without building a separate technique around them.
- Return again and again to upright sitting, simple presence, and wakefulness.
- If pain appears, adjust mindfully rather than forcing stillness through injury or sharp discomfort.
Stay comfortable. You can stop at any time or return to your natural breath.
