SELF-GUIDED PRACTICE
How to practice
- Sit quietly and let the body settle before looking for something to appreciate.
- Choose one specific support, such as a person, place, meal, skill, body function, opportunity, or small comfort.
- Name the exact detail you appreciate rather than using a general idea.
- Notice what happens in the body as you remember it: warmth, softening, relief, emotion, or even neutrality.
- Stay with the detail for several breaths without exaggerating or forcing positivity.
- If the mind compares, dismisses, or argues, acknowledge that and return to the specific support.
- Repeat with two or three more concrete examples if time allows.
- Close by silently saying thank you or by resting with the felt sense of being supported.
Stay comfortable. You can stop at any time or return to your natural breath.
